Axel Scheffler

London based, German-born, illustrator Axel Scheffler is a leading figure of children’s literature in Great Britain and a favourite guest at the South Ken Kids Festival. He has illustrated countless books written by various European authors, and his partnership with Julia Donaldson has given us such books as The Snail and The Whale, Tabby McTat and Room on the Broom. Axel Scheffler is also a passionate Europhile and took the lead for the Drawing for Europe exhibit at the Institut français in May 2018 in partnership with Pulse of Europe.
