Jean de Brunhoff
Creator of our dear Babar the Elephant, Jean de Brunhoff is French and was born in 1899. He went to the Académie de la Grande Chaumière in Paris. One day, his wife Cécile de Brunhoff invented a bedtime story for their children where an elephant left the jungle to live in the city. Their two boys loved the story so much that they asked their father to illustrate it, and Babar was born. The Draw Me Some Music show at the Institut français will bring Babar back to life through pens and music.
