Quentin Blake
The South Ken Kids Festival is proud to have Sir Quentin Blake for its patron. French readers love him for his famous illustrations of Roald Dahl’s stories (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Matilda, The Big Friendly Giant, etc.). He is not only an eminent Francophile, he has also given his name to the Institut français’ Bibliothèque Quentin Blake. This year, to celebrate the launch of his new album Pen Ink and Places, the Institut français will be exhibiting some of his illustrations in the run-up to the festival.
A few of his latest books:
- Pen Ink & Places (2018, Waterstones)
- The House in the Tree (2017, Alma)
- Three Little Monkeys (2016, Harper Collins)
- The Tale of Kitty-in-Boots (2016, Penguin)
